@dadahdee; I remember when Manilow appeared on the Merv Griffin show Merv commented on the same observation and told Manilow he had "star arms".Manilow's a lanky 6'2' and with those long arms he is able to utilize a bar stool often in place of a standard piano bench.This is from a page out of the lounge and bar room playbook, for maximum audience presentation and viewing where he began his career in those types of venues, smoked-filled bar rooms and auditions.
