@lovetownsend Ya the movie is much better and it seems after the success of Spike Speigel from Cowboy Bebop hat they tried to mold Jubei to be similar where as in the movie he had a totally different personality. NS the series is watchable but not even close to as entertaining as the movie.

IM SORRY! lol i just cant help but comment on how bad this is! Jubei, whos my favorite anime chacrtor they totally f@cked up. they made him all "careless cool guy" look, when in the movie he wasnt like that at all. just- ...poor

tis sucks compared to the movie. i mean no offence to the people that do like the show, but i feel it doesnt hold anything to the movie.i can see there trying to catch the weird ghouls and mystical vibe the movie had tho so thats cool!

@ramenshino Yeah my roomate has the Japanese version. The voices are a lot better IMO but I also like watching Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop in Japanese with Subs. The main character Jubei in the Ninja Scroll movie is the same voice actor that does Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop.

I'm not entirely sure Yoshiyaki Kawajiri had a hand in this series (maybe overlooking it). The artwork is subpar (even for a TV show). I'd have expected more from Madhouse.

And yes, people, there are some silly characters and moments. It's typical Kawajiri to have some over the top weapons/bad guys. He's an excellent entertainer (and exceptional artist/director), but hardly perfect.
