This is the dvd of the underground film I own by Warhol and Morrissey. There is no sound at this part of the movie, but music by the Velvet Underground was played at this part at some theaters (it is silent on the dvd) Pay close attention to the surroundings of the film. What do you think the cameraman was perceiving?
Episode 8: Mary Menken (in color)
Reel 8. The Gerard Malanga Story in other words the classic triangle made up by Mary Menken (the mother), Gerard Malanga (the son) and Mary Wonorow (the other) tinges itself with sadomasochistic streaks.
Episode 7: Mario sings two songs
Ed and Patrick receive a visit from their "neighbor" Mario Montez. The queen of song and charm, Mario puts on a show singing Broadway tunes. Ed, having sensed the spell that Mario's singing is casting on his bed companion, doesn't hesitate to kick him out.
Mary Wonorow is hot!

The Italian Raro version is actually done without permission from the Andy Warhol Foundation. Sound is missing because it is poorly done but nicely packaged.

I think the reason for them removing some of the footage is because either Edie Sedgwick wanted her part cut out of the film.Either that or they wanted her out of the film.

I have the Italian Raro dvd and this section of the film is silent for about 24 min.
If the Velvet Underground music was removed for whatever reasons is that not
Velvet Underground music playing in the last 10 min right to the very end of the film?
Seems odd *they* would remove VU music from one part and leave another in.
