  • This was MORE than a 500 year flood. Some are saying it's a 1000 year flood, but that will have to be determined by geologists and such. No records back that far. NO ONE had plans in place for this bad a disaster.

  • @96demonic - No, but you CAN blame the Wyndham for not having disaster preparedness plans, evacuation plans, shelter in place plans, and just generally an understanding of their risks and hazards of the surrounding area. This storm didn't just pop up...there was at least a 48-hour notice that a big rain was coming. They should have been better prepared and informed guests of what plans were in place to enusre their safety should they be forced to shelter guests or evacuate.

  • Yeah that is because the managers of Wyndham did not notify anyone to get out! They ran and didn't warn anyone.

  • @96demonic I agree, 96demonic. I was in Nashville that weekend and saw the water rise, little by little. Some places flooded, some didn't. You can't pick the next spot in an unprecedented, historic disaster. The national guard and apache helicopters were helping people that weekend, over 1000 water rescues, 30 people died. Sorry you got stuck in your room for a bit, missmissy2256. Glad everyone was ok, but come on....

  • I was also wondering about those cows! I stayed at the Wyndham in 2007 and have always wanted to visit it again....bet the ol' wax museum didn't fair well either.... so sad!

  • We checked out Sunday (5/2) and headed to the airport. We had driven by the Opryland Hotel and the Cumberland late Saturday afternoon and had no idea what was to come. I am glad everyone was evacuated safely and appreciate this video of what might have been. Does anyone know if the livestock next to the Wyndham survived. I enjoyed seeing them graze in the pasture everyday during our week there.

  • Really? So apparently the buses and food and other hotel to put these people in wasn't enough? How could Wyndham have known there would be a flood? You can't blame a corporation for a natural disaster.

  • WYNDHAM! YOU totally dropped the ball! You left your guests to fend for themselves!

Just know that you ARE being investigated....

  • I used this footage in a movie i made to raise awareness, it is the main one on my page. you can get to it by clicking my name. Thank you so much for the awesome footage... nice tv :)

  • Feel so bad for these people. This is where my deed is for Wyndham. I already pay tons of money every yr for maint. fees. Guess they will be going up more
