More Joko tromping around through the forest? Yup yup! This is my new hobby and it fits in so well with my video making hobby...
Today's Tour d'Joko takes us up I-90, about 50 miles from home, to the Cascade Mountains. I was the first one on the trail, getting there about 8:30 AM. Walking up the mountain, surrounded by moss-covered trees, skirting some raging rapids, I contemplated how lucky I was to have this amazing place all to myself. Wow. Within seconds of reaching the top of the second of the "Twin Falls", the next hiker came rambling along. I saw about 30 people while I headed back down the trail.
I was thinking about finding another trail, as this one was so easy, but instead, I stumbled across a really neat "Educational Center" explaining and showing where Seattle gets it's water.
WE have some awesome tasting water up here. Today, I saw where it came from (sort of... It doesn't come from Rattlesnake Lake. The actual reservoir from whence our water derives is off limits to visitors. To keep people from pooping in it or something).
Enjoy!
