throwing a pitcher and cutting the rim to form a spout and then faceting the side of the pitcher. Shows completed piece after firing in soda kiln.

  • I am using Nara clay in this video (did I say that in the vid?) i like Colemans clay better in some ways, it throws about the same, the glazes look better on the Colemans, but it will often slump, especially with wide bowls, at the temp. that I fire to, generally cone 11. So, I find the Nara a good compromise, it is translucent if thin and very white after it is fired and a little cheaper too, though cost is really not an issue when cost of clay per piece is figured.
