Debussy is always unmistakable. No matter what piece it is, you can always hear his style.

I like Gieseking's speed, but I like Francois Joel-Thiollier's (i think that's how it's spelled) touch, especially on some of the staccato parts like at 0:38 on this recording.

@Dnmk2007 Yep - Try the Arrau link, its tremendous playing, perhaps too 'moderato' in the other direction, but a wonderful play of it nonetheless. Too much time on Y/A or iTunes downloads has made the world think "Clair de lune" is all there is, and then miss this oh so nice prelude and the fantastic passpied.

Excellent. Phrasing clear and decisive. I prefer a slightly less relentless approach with more give.
Did I read "Moderato - Tempo rubato" at the beginning?
