Ailish Dunne, blind thrower from Moutmellick, Co. Laois, Ireland threw a PB and achieved a London A Qualifying Standard in the Shot at the IWA games on April 30th. 2011 in Santry. For an ordinary thrower 7.00m. is very little but for an athlete blinded from a stroke it is very difficult indeed. She has come a long way in training, utilising many drills both in the gym and the ring, medball throws both one and both hands and strength exercises in the lifting room. A great achievement for an athlete who loves throwing and dedicated to training. All her supporters, personal friends and friends from the Paralympic Association are delighted. Now the real work must start.
Great throw from Ailish. Lovely style.
