Rant and plans for swapping out the HAF 912 front fan dust filter for some Silverstone filters to improve airflow.

Here is what I am getting:

  • question for you, if you use the side fan as an intake fan do you get the annoying whine noise? my haf 912 side panel fan gives off a very high pitched noise if set to intake on the side. it seems to be because of the honeycomb style vent. do you know of a solution for this?

  • @Mobius1ac Use a 120x25 fan shroud, take a cheap or broken 120mm fan and gut the insides so its just frame. Check my other HAF 912 videos think I show it on one of them.

  • How did you remove the filter? please tell me.

  • @1Gamerify Remove it from inside have to remove front panel then pull it out.

  • how did u take the plastic dust collector off please reply!

  • @staralpha14 Just pulls out from the front panel on the inside.

  • Yeah it kinda suks bro, I did this with my HAF X case, I removed the dust filters and got better temps with pretty much all components, I put the dust filters back in and then the airflow/intake was cut down alot more then I thought so its kinda like.....have better cooling but more dust inside case without filters or use dust filters but not as good cooling...@_@

  • @Lionheart1188 Depends on where you live. If you live somewhere that always has wind, or you have a bunch of people in your house keep the filters. Otherwise I think I'd take them off.

  • Name of the led fans?

  • @ComputerTechTV excellent idea, just finished doing that mod to my side panel fan. made a world of difference. Cheers

  • @PhenomenalKarma Those are 3.5 bays if your speaking of the ones on the bottom of the case.
