UPDATE: I have successfully installed new speakers in my back dash. I have videos of most of the DYI, but I forgot to bring my camera when I used some of the tools at my friends house. I will link together all of those videos and put them up as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for the tip! Worked like a charm. I also trimmed the lip on the underside of the factory grill cover in both the front and the back.

I installed new Infinity 6.5s in my 2008 Civic Coupe just last week. A little complicated but what I did was take off the back dash, and made an adapter out of 3/4 inch wood from Lowes or any other store. Just cut out enough from the middle to fit the speaker all the way into it, and then cut around the outsides. Haven't had any problems with speakers being too tall for the back dash. Good luck.

I'm telling ya man it would be so much simpler if you bought an adapter bracket for them....

I just bought Rockford Fosgate P152 5.25 speakers for the rear. They come with adapter brackets so you won't have to mess with cutting the old rim out like you did. Plus, Rockford is better than Pioneer.
