My 2nd generation discus with goldfish.

The goldfish will keep my tank bottom totally clean. They are moving around all the time.

  • I noticed pointy tips on 1 of the discus,Is that how you tell if its a male ore female?which 1 is the pointy tip?

  • point tip one is the male. not all discus spice have this symbol. Reading some books, it says male discus fins tend to be more sharp pointed

  • goldfish and discus? thats like having caviar with ez-cheese. healthy looking fish though, happy. I know discus do good in a bare tank, but i could never keep a bare tank, it just looks like a fish hospital, I'll never keep a non planted tank again.

  • that's true, Very nice coloration

  • ANYTIME!!!!!!!

  • thanks for the info...you seem really well educated when it comes to these beauties. Thanks for being so patient with me!!

  • thank you very much, they are not salt water they are found in south america in the amazon river an the reo nagro. my tanks for my discus are only 20 gallon longs (my smallest tanks i have) they can be quite dificult to keep when they are not given proper water conditions!

  • wow your tank is HUGE!!! My little betta bowl is is like a drop in the bucket compared!!I really like your set up, are these coral fish, or what I mean is where do they come from in the wild? Both sets of fish are wonderful. I don't have the space to accommodate a big enough tank to keep them but I still want to learn about them. They seem cool!!!

  • well yes an no they look very haoppy but then again so do mine. check out mine

  • but wouldn't the fish be happier with it looking a little more natural? like I said I know nothing of these fish, I just think they'd be happier with a little home comforts, you know, fish before humans?

  • they some times prefer tanks like these an it is easyer for the people to clean the tank.:)

  • just curious, and not bagging on anybody, but why no plants or rocks or anything? Looks kinda sterile, and bare. I'm don't own a big aquarium or anything, so I don't know if these fish need the exsesories, I was just wondering...thats all. : )
