@Syayid I m getting to you now. That is one of the most common answers any muslim apologetics would do. You don't read it in arabic, you read it out of context, it is defensive nature, etc etc.
But then again, 10 Muslim translators may provide 10 translations and still THE SAME MESSAGE. Does that matter to you at all? Then again, it is all up to you whether you wish to start the truth from there or not. The access to the allegedly word of God, is by all mean accessible or it has no use.
Now, my question is, do you understand Arabic? Scholars in the world today have found out that the translation of Arabic into English is not consistent. And, one thing for sure, to understand Islam, understand it as a whole, don't understand it line by line. That will stop you from understanding Islam. See the big picture. That line has a correlation with the previous line and a line after that.
Read Qur'an thoroughly, that's an educated person will do.
However Q9:5 Q:9:29 Q2:191 Q2:216 Q8:39 and still dozens more remind the muslims to take life as today's progressing events. Sure, some of the jihadists may not correctly understand Islam. But what do you think ?
Here's 9:5 then kill the mushrikun wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush.
@Dn8Free: I can't answer why. I can't tell for the whole case. Sometimes, I could also think that some people may pretend to be Muslims and persuade others to kill people. These are the real terrorist. I don't have problems with Non-Muslims. They are fine. What makes me sad is if one case happens, people seem to judge Muslims as the same everywhere. That's one things that I don't accept. It's case by case basis.
@Dn8Free: I can't answer why. I am just a single man on earth who knows about Islam. I can't tell for the whole case. @Syayid But so far all I have been finding are videos of Indonesian Muslims (and other Muslims from Muslim majority countries) making life hell for the non-Muslims, and talking about how they believe doing so is the right thing. It makes me sick. I don't give a damn which religion is the right one, or if all religions are wrong. But hurting people because of it is not cool. I have asked Muslims on youtube for videos of Muslims being nice to their religious minorities. But none gave me any.
@Syayid Why don't I come over and help the non-Muslims? I don't know how to help them. I wish I could. It's not like the Indonesian government would listen to me? And what the hell makes you assume that this is the only video I have watched? You accuse me of hatred and narrow thinking? I heard about this story long before I saw this video, and I have watched MANY other videos hoping to find good Muslims there who treat their religious minorities well.
@season161: Please read this book, "Making Modern Muslims: The Politics of Islamic Education in Southeast Asia" written by Hefner, sponsored by the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) in Seattle, the United States. You will get more reliable understanding there. The book is published after a long and sophisticated research. I am not interested arguing with you. Just read the book. Thanks.

@Syayid
what buffles me syayid: does the quran command muslims to kill others ?
Q5:32 explicitly condemns that.
