  • I don't know what to say about the NJ stuff. That is something to clarify at the pre-fight rules meeting. I get my gauze from Title Boxing, which seems to be about the same length that "Stitch" uses. He actually does a thicker wrap for boxers, in which he uses an additional roll to make a pad over the knuckles. There is a video from the same DVD of "Stitch" taping hands for boxing. It is in my favorites list.

  • Gotta make your hands like anvils if you're going to throw them as such. It looks like a lot, but everyone I've taped has liked it and no one has had any problem fitting into their MMA gloves. I should point out though that I tape hands mostly for amateur fights, so I skip the $3/roll stretchy/sticky gauze at the end.

  • @ThunnChris boxers use normal hand wraps ,available at any sports shop, during training. even mma fighters use the normal wraps for training. this method of wrapping hands is mainly for professional mma fights as fighters need a open palm for grappling on the ground.

  • the voice in the background was too funny without seeing some

  • Does a boxer need to hand wrap his hand this way at every training session?

And does he need to change gauzes everytime?

  • it takes too muck time though!

  • Very few states allow the cohesive tape, but yes, it is always good to discuss any approach at the fighter's meeting if not sooner. The cohesive can be found for much less than $3/roll but again very few states allow it. As for the layers used, yes Jacob clearly goes beyond the legal amount (and doesn't get more protection as a result fyi) so it's simply a matter of discussing your style beforehand or having good logic after you've completed it.

  • @deadrealtors Thanks for uploading! While watching this video, I thought, 'That looks like plenty of wrap.'

It doesn't matter what it looks like though, if it helps prevent injuries and helps to strengthen the hand for harder hits.

He's been doing this forever too, so must know what he's doing. This actually looked similar to one I just watched done by Freddie Roach.

  • Nice job, kinda hard to do by yourself doh :/

  • Just watching this man work is incredible. Truly a man who loves his work and makes art of it, even if to Joe Schmo it's just taping up a guy's fists. Just beautiful.

  • Can I use the surgical dressings as a pad for my knuckles and the back of the hands?

  • Absolutely GOURGEOUS wrap.
