Read then watch.
This clip is part of a documentary film called Around the world in 80 treasures. Episode 8: Mali to Egypt from BBC, presented by Dan Cruickshank. This clip was recorded in 2005 in Leptis magna, Libya. At the beginning the clip shows Dan Cruickshank explaining about the city and the kind of pieces can be found in this ancient city.
Here is the point, if you pay attention to the minute 00:51 you will see Cruickshank lifts three fragments of bronze to show them, after leaving back on the ground a piece of ceramic he had showed a moment before. Immediatly after he shows the three fragments of bronze( 00:55 ), he closes his hand holding them and keeps talking while he watches around moving his hand.
The scene shows clearly his hidden purpose to take with him the three fragments of bronze.
Then, the scene changes to show a sunset and we did not see Mr. Cruickshank leaving the fragments of bronze in the place where they belong.
Did Mr. Cruickshank return the three pieces of bronze or he kept them, which constitutes a theft?
Will Mr. Cruickshank answer us?

Note:
The clip you will watch is translated to Russian.

  • I am slightly confused here as to the suggested crime. We saw him pick some items up, and the shot was cut before he put them back down. Is that stealing? We also saw him getting on a camel, and didn't see him get off. Did he steal that also? So let's throw the book at him, 'cause he put that down at the grain store and never picked it up again.. Littering!!

  • This is the single dumbest video/posting on youtube. Congratulations.

  • Hmm, I seem to remember him also visiting the tomb of Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens. I am aware that the tomb has not been open to the public since, given that we did not see him leave the tomb, perhaps he slipped the wall paintings under his hat, and thats what the authorities have been trying to hide from us ever since. Shocking!!

  • haha paranoid much?

  • Parecería que sí se robó las piezas de bronce. ¿Pensó que nadie se iba a dar cuenta que las tenía en la mano mientras hacía como que hablaba distraidamente?

    Muy interesante to blog.

  • You are right, It seems really he stole them. Where are Libyan authorities to investigate the case?
