I always knew Paul Giamatti was the kind of actor who could really handle a stretch, but it takes some serious punch to play yourself, which is exactly what he'll do this August in Cold Souls.
Paul Giamatti plays Paul Giamatti--no, I didn't just repeat myself--who's preparing for a role in a Broadway version of Anton Chekhov's play Uncle Vanya. Even Chekhov's lighter plays have driven strong men to drink, so it's no surprise that Paul can't quite hack it. So when he finds a way to temporarily remove his soul from his body so he can play the darker parts, he takes it--and that's when things really start to go wrong. Check out the trailer.
So is this a comedy with some soul? Or is it just a shell? Join the deep metaphysical discussion taking place in the comments section below, and thanks for watching!

I hate the commentary in the beginning.
It's so snide.
