Starlet Gina Germaine (Suzanne Somers) wants a serious role in director Neil Grey's (Anthony Hopkins) upcoming high-profile production.

TRIVIA: ABC announced the cast of "Hollywood Wives" on Thursday, August 30, 1984. The mini-series began its big-budget production a couple of weeks later, on Wednesday, September 12.

Aaron Spelling was said to have been especially impressed with Candice Bergen's performance as Elaine Conti and was considering offering her a role on "Dynasty" which had risen to the top of the Nielsen ratings that season.

Also, Spelling was very happy with the dailies while the mini-series was in production and began making plans for "Hollywood Wives" to continue to air on ABC twice a year as a 2-hour movie with an ongoing storyline.

Jackie Collins was, on the other hand, said to have been very happy with how the women looked in Nollan Miller's designs.
