Predator Effect

A tedious way of achieving something like the cloak effect seen in Predator. The process by which the effect is created is exceedingly time-consuming, as well as hard to describe. In short, this was done frame by frame using Paint Shop Pro 6 and Animation Shop. I do not recommend using this technique for longer sequences due to the amount of time required, but those of you who own Adobe After Effects should be able to achieve much the same look using a green screen and the displacement map feature. If you would like to try it on a single frame using Photoshop or PSP, simply select the silhouette of your figure and apply the "punch" effect, then the "wave" effect.

Easy tutorial for vegas pro users.

1) Stand against a blank background

2) Record your "predator"

3) get a video of your background. e.g a jungle. (can be a picture)

4) Put the "predator" in the top row of the timeline

5) Right click then go to video FX

6) Go to chroma keyer and check the top 2 boxes and change the the dropdown menu to wrap around pixels and audjust the other settings to your desire!
