Last lap in turn 1, Dan Clarke's collision for 2nd with Mario Dominguez. AJ Allmendinger went onto win in an action packed race.

Dan was quite impressive at times in 2006. Here in his 6th start he was racing Dominguez for P2, he drove from P9 to P2 at San Jose before the gearbox quit, and in the next 3 races he was 3rd, 4th, and 6th from Pole at Road America.

In 2007 he struggled early with the DP01 (no testing) before showing his potential again at Portland finishing P6. At San Jose he was strong again but ran into Wilson early, ending their chances to win. He was also P2 to Sea Bass at RA, one of his better tracks.

Speedy Dan surely has the speed, but is too accident-prone to become a great driver. Quite the opposite of a typical British racer; he drives more with his heart than with his brain. (I'm not saying he's stupid; he merely tries too hard.)
