This is the system being used in the new "Odyssey" ship, the adventures of which are the basis of the new web series that will replace the planned "Lost in Space" series. Due to the desire of the property-rights owner of the LIS franchise, we've had to abandon the Lost in Space premise and proceed with an entirely original series. This will have the advantage of allowing us to develop an entirely new mythos.

  • WOW I like it! also i can not wait to see the whole ship! Will you be redesigning a lot?

  • @jennjelly Yes, most of the ship will be an original creation. While inspired by the old Jupiter2, this ship incorporates our best guess regarding new technologies while still maintaining the romantic aspects of the original adventure series. Thank you!

  • Great spaceship design. I like the fact that it sort of looks like the Jupiter 2 yet is has it's own identity. Awesome landing gear too. Congrats.

  • @Nibiru128 As with the Star Trek fan films, the money grabbers do not have the vision that the fans want, and Ron is delivering what we want. His work is awe inspiring and shows what can be done, and not what was done with that awful film from over a decade ago. Has Bill Mumy ever seen any of these clips. He would love them.

  • if the powers that be can't see your vision....THEN SCREW "EM!!!! Produce your version...with all the support you'll have it will be a hit. i'm sure when they see the new way you've taking this show...they'll realize what a bunch of DUMBASSES they are!!! sorry ron...it just makes my blood boil when you've done fantastic work compared to the failed attempts (the movie and the unaired series)that they would do this to you! you are one of the best cgi artists i've seen, you'll show 'em!

  • GOOD

  • congratulations on the design and mechanics of this landing gear for this wonderful and exciting new project. as all of your very interested fans and followers, i can not wait to see the freshly designed "odissey" ship. greetings from a venezuelan lis fan......

  • I want more and look forward to it.

  • In regards to the chariot ,if you recall i asked how it got out in a crash landing senario... Well i have been thinking about it a lot and i thought you might have a bay that is 3 stoires high and contains both the charoit and the pod and that way you could launch both from either the top of the ship or the bottom.... it would give the robinsons a way of using both especially when stuck on a planet. let me know what you think ok?

  • Ron, I woke up this morning, turned on the computer, and saw that you had a new post. All excited as I was, proceeded to watch, and then discovered what has been happening to you and your "team" of collaborators on the LIS project.

I'm glad for all the great videos that you've given to your series followers. I hope the " copyright holders" haven't put a cease and desist order on any other LIS videos that you make personally? ( Just the LIS Series)?

And YES, the Odyssey footage is awesome

  • First: This is awesome! The realism you put into the mechanics of your models just knocks me out!

Second: It sucks to hear that the LIS project will be abandoned, especially after you did so much incredible work on it. I'm sure that "Odyssey" will be great, but it still must have been a blow to have the rug pulled out from under you like that. It's a shame the rights holders to LIS don't have the same open-mindedness that Paramount does regarding Trek-based fan projects.
