InMoSion - EnTaxi System Demonstration

The InMosion is a project financed by the European Commission in the context of the FP6 Science and Society 20 Programme, which aims to develop and operate an innovative system of customized transport for urban travel. Several categories of the population, such as the elderly, people with mobility problems and people with high demands for movement, have need for such transport systems, for which the term has prevailed is Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) systems. In Greek the application of such urban transport system is promoted with the code name "ΕνΤAXI", because it is mainly used taxis during the pilot operation of such urban transport in the Greek cities. "ΕνΤAXI", is a flexible urban transport system that can be adapted to the transport needs of specific population groups, without the existence of known problems of the current operation system, such as frequent delays of buses and long waiting times at stops. In the context of the above, the InMosion project creates the conditions for high standards and efficient transport services to people who need frequent travel and live in suburban areas, where population density is too low to serve the local public transport system.
