Dan has always been my favorite character. He's the heart of the show and I always find him the funniest. John Goodman is the best because he makes Dan so lovable. He's a big man and tough but also a lovable teddy bear of a man. He can be intimidating but that's just because of his size. No other sitcom has come close to this show in how it's so real and deals with real life issues. Season 1 is my favorite. Thanks for posting this.

and nobody ever realized that the unknown "tough guy" Dan knocks out is professional wrestler Kendall Windham, brother of Barry and son of Blackjack Mulligan. Dan's one of the best sitcom characters ever.
