was a big 5-car accident on I-91 again, near WEST SPRINGFIELD -- two cars traveling northbound on Interstate 91 caused a five-car crash after they were "aggressively following each other," lost control and ended up crossing the median into the southbound lanes of Interstate 91. Several people were taken to the hospital, and some had to be extricated from the cars.
(3) The air bag did not deploy in the Jeep Grand Cherokee as it was struck from the side and the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Pontiac never had any contact with each other. Due to no fault of their own a drive involved in this motor vehicle accident was left permanently disabled

(2) The Nissan then swerved back and struck the Jeep Grand Cherokee on the front passenger side with such force it blew the tire and rim half off of the vehicle and sent the Jeep rolling multiple times across the median only to land in the southbound land and be struck again by a vehicle traveling south bound. The Nissan then traveled across the median and struck another vehicle.

After a full investigation, review of the accident photos, and release of the police report it shows the Nissan struck the Pontiac's driver's side, sending the Pontiac down the right side of the embankment. There was no loss of control, the driver of the Nissan was trying to squeeze into the right lane in front of the Pontiac but had not cleared the vehicle before entering the right lane.
