The Role of Military Commissions in the Global War on Terrorism

Summary: The talk given by Col. Davis will be the first time a representative of the Office of Military Commissions has spoken publicly about the role of the OMC in the war on terror. At the OMC, Col. Davis leads a team of legal experts from all branches of the military and the Department of Justice. He is responsible for the prosecution of individuals detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, who the President determines are subject to the President's Military Order of November 13, 2001. Col. Davis has been an Air Force judge advocate for more than 22 years including a tour in Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm.
