1980 Quaker State - Steve Cook vs. Tom Baker - Part 1

The date was January 26, 1980 at the Forum Lanes in Grand Prairie, Texas for the $100,000 Quaker State Open. Tom Baker, 25 at the time, won his opening match vs. Jim Winkelplek, and now is facing Steve Cook. Baker was a relative rookie back then, never finishing higher than 2nd back in 1976.

Steve Cook was a stud. To get that kind of reaction and pin action with a plastic ball is just sick. Any fool today can throw a reactive ball and make it hit. Not back then.....

Ouch! That could have been 3 or 4 on that drop... thanks for posting yet another good video. Loved to watch the PBA in those days. Of course, after 9:30AM AJBC, then YABA league. I think it was around this time I got my first BRAND NEW Yellow Dot... and my Earl Anthony Mag7 LOL!
