The Inveneo low power advantage in action:

We set up two computers: our Inveneo Fit-PC2 Computing Station and a standard desktop with LCD, to run off of identical 90 AHr, 12V batteries and identical 40A Phocos charge controllers. (The standard desktop must use an inverter to be able to run from a battery, while the Fit2 can take 12V DC direct).

This time lapse video shows the Inveneo workstation blowing the standard desktop away, running for 60 hours against the standard desktop's 4 hours. That's almost 20 times the run time, and means fewer batteries and solar panels to purchase to run in an off grid, rural environment and lots of money saved.

  • Yes, inverters are inefficient. That's one of the many reasons Inveneo Certified Solutions are better suited for battery and solar installs: they enable you to build DC only power systems.

Any computer Inveneo certifies accepts wide input DC. There's no way to power the big Dell desktop from a battery or solar system without an inverter.

  • excuse me, an "Inverter" - hardy identical - inverters are awfully inefficient. Not that effects the end results.
