I went to the Chincoteague Island Annual Pony Swim in 2006. These are pictures (sorry, no clips) that I took at the holding pen the day before the swim on Assateague Island. They were all so cute but unfortunatly none came home with us, lol.

  • My daughter is reading Misty of Chincoteague by Marguerite Henry, which was a true story of a pony that lived there many years ago. It is such a great book! I will be sure to show her this video. Thanks for sharing!

  • @Alliem71 I read that book too...i live in South Africa..its a very sweet book. I just feel sorry for the horses though.

  • @Alliem71 Sorry but it's not a true story. The people and the horses are real but the story is not. Misty was actually foaled on the Beebe ranch, by Pied Piper out of Phantom who were also domesticated. Misty did not grow up on Chincoteague because M. Henry bought her as a weanling so Misty went to Illinois. She ended up back on Chincoteague. And yes she had a foal called Stormy.

  • The last filly is Freckles and she was a buyback in 2006. She has a foal of her own this year! It is now also a buyback and has been named Splash of Freckles. <3 :)

  • @Alliem71 it is a great book and i have the movie too :)

  • Do you know if the last foal was a buyback? I think I saw her in 2009.. got a pic in a vid on here - looks just like her.

  • I think I saw the last foal but grown up in 2009.. hmm.. do you know if she was a buyback?
