For my 40th birthday my Mom took me to see Randy Newman in concert at a small theatre near me (this would be 2006). It was just Randy and a concert grand. Great show BTW. During this song I noticed my Mom crying quietly.
Later she told me how these lyrics exactly mirrored how she felt since my Dad had died five years earlier.
My Mom died three days ago and this song is for her.
Thanks Mom. For everything.

@tamiiland I'm not crying at all, it's just someone is cutting onions in my room and it's making me 'teary eyed'... ...

Andy: Thanks, guys...
Woody: So long...partner.
Somehow, you gotta love bittersweet endings. Sure, it's sad, but that's what life is - enduring the sadness and embracing the happiness that follows.

Thank you for loading this - I really love this song!
