JByrd SCAC #5 - Florence, SC 8-7-10 - Tire Destruction (The Beginning)

This was my first and fastest run in SC Autocross Championship event # 5 at Florence Civic Center. If you watch my hands on the wheel, you will see a lot of corrections (and head-jerks) as the tires simply seemed to "break away" unexpectedly. They got progressively worse with each successive run.

Still, it was a fun course, and a great event held by the South Carolina Region/SCCA.

It was not a great event for me. I wish Hankook would get my badly needed replacement tires off of back-order.......may need to change brands. The tires on my car in this video were "well-used" Toyo R1Rs.......obviously in their last event.

I would post some of the spin outs that occurred in later runs, but unfortunately, the camera "picks up" my explicative and somewhat colorful language, which I believed would not be heard in the solitude (normally) of my car.
