Dad's Marx Train

Here is a Marx train that belonged to my Dad. You can see the new train table that I created last weekend, and finally finished the wiring today. It was created for a lightweight Christmas tree to be placed in the center of the table for Christmas, and remove the tree for the rest of the year. The project is under construction.

I completed the legs and neatly connected the wiring to small power strips. I need one more power strip from the hobby shop to finish the accessories. But all the trains run nicely on the tracks. I have yet to wire the spurs seperately. This way, I hope to park a train on one spur, and then use a different train parked elsewhere. I love the layout, but I quickly realized I would much prefer a layout twice the size. I'm sticking to this layout for a few years though.

It is nice to think about a large layout, but starting small will allow you to set up many of your ideas & see how they turn out. And finding time for a big layout can be challenging since you are likely servicing alot of rolling stock & accessories now.
