My Mom was dying of Brain Cancer and could barely speak but when I started singing this to her she sung along with the clearest most beautiful voice of an Angel. I only go one everyday so that farther along I can sing again with her. I love you Mommy and miss you more than you will ever know. Enjoy that Mansion in the sky and be in peace. CANCER SUCKS!

my grandfather is the person who wrote this song but he published it as public domain and it was originally played on the radio by him as "father along" i am so proud to say that i know who wrote this beautiful song let alone to know that i am his grand son. R.I.P. grandpa:(
