Made to work, handle designed to facilitate long work without hotspots

Grind comes very close to fist in force cut grip to facilitate notching etc

No choils

Advantages:

Superb handle design, very comfortable
Excellent fit and finish
Great inbetween size for both bushcrafting and larger camp chores
Light for its size
Thin enough for nice slicing, thick enough to baton
O1 Tool steel is great
Sheath is 100% awesome
Retention in sheath is great, even without retention strap
Can be hung around neck, even upside down, and wont fall out
SS Corby Bolt forward pin
Bulseye Lanyard hole very cool
Extra large handle good for extra large hands, but even small hands fit well
Sharpened all the way to the ricasso, tight to hand for great close in work

Disadvantages

-Upper but tip needs a little more rounding off, not sharp enough to injure you, and far enough from hand not to matter, but I had to put something here lol. I have never had a knife that was perfect!

This one comes dang close!

  • Hows this knife standing the test of time? Do you still use it? Any short comings with the sheath fit after a little wear?

  • @kiltedhiker No problems with the sheaths, JRE sheaths are top notch. Knife handled well, although I dont have it anymore.

  • correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's got a secondary bevel ... it's not full convex. Nice knife though, no doubt ! Nice review too.

  • @BCbikerhippy No, just like a full flat has a secondary bevel but is still a full flat. Putting the word "full" doesnt mean there is only one grind.

  • If I ever do a serious knife review, I want you to do the description on it

  • @Rasenkrieger thanks man

  • Beautiful knife! U mentioned the blade is wide, do you remember how wide it is?

  • @QuietBearr Well, I'm no expert, but from the reasearch I've done, you're wrong. "Full" means exactly that, no secondary bevel. This is definately true with convex grinds, and as far as I know also with flat grind. All a full flat grind is, is a scandi type grind that goes all the way to the spine. I have seen so called full flat grind knives, that have a secondary bevel, but they shouldn't. If you look at the videos on convexing edges by BLUNTRUTH4U. Should explain it to you.

  • thanks man

  • awesome knife!
