@zscheuch I love the Dead as much as anyone else, but honestly when people talk shit about "music these days" it kind of pisses me off. If you think there's no good music being made today then you probably haven't listened to much of it, or you haven't gotten past the Lady Gaga/ Justin Bieber bullshit.
There's plenty of incredible music being made today, open your mind a bit. I agree that there will never be another Jerry, but when you start with that "music these days" crap...youregettingold

Donna was okay, but this was one of the songs where her voice was useful.

this was jerry's last set of dead shows in vegas. this was friday night, i saw him saturday night. As i was leaving the show i said jerry sounded the worst out of the 50 shows i had seen him. he would die soon. LISTEN TO his solo. he is waaaaay off key(even for jerry, off). he is in a slumber in that solo. STILL sounds great but not 100%

Jerry Garcia Band - -The Grateful Dead, playin' in my house 24/7, 365. I can listen to others, of course, plus I'm a classical pianist BUT the ONLY musician I can listen to 24/7, 365, and NEVER need to turn off is JERRY GARCIA!!!

A great, great song! One that should be representative of pure American music in the history of human musical achievement! Very well written, played and one that inspires. Unlike today's era of fluf' and lack of thoughtfulness, craft and substinance. A Masterpiece of creative rock and roll music in that idiom. Right on The Greatful Dead.
