http://www.Fitmix.net is a FREE interactive online fitness program. Please visit the weekly blog that includes this workout at http://www.fitmix.net/Blog.aspx?BlogDate=9/13/2009#waSaturday .

This home workout uses a body weight, barbells, and dumbbells. The focus of the workout is shoulder and traps. The fitmix.net system allows users to select a more focused workout like this one or a more randomized weekly routine that uses the registered users settings to determine what exercise groups and exercises are available from week to week.

These 30 minute workout routines in this series follow the weekly pattern of

Sunday - Knee Centric Leg, Calves, Abs
Monday - Chest and Core
Wednesday - Bicep and Lat
Friday - Hip Centric Leg, Core, and Lower Back
Saturday - Full Body, Shoulder, and Traps

Within that exercise group pattern the available exercises vary from week to week. With exception to any exercises that the users classifies with an almost certain chance.

The circuit, superset, pattern of these workouts will keep heart rate up providing cardio aspect to the workouts and help increase base metabolic rate so more calories are burned while body is at rest.

  • dude you need to slow your workout down and put some emphasis on the muscles you are working out. Looks like pretty good cardio though, but not much for building your muscle.

  • At this point in my life Rob its more about staying healthy. I'm not really concerned about muscle mass; I weight 192-196 and thats good for me. You comment is valid for those that want to build mass. Lastly, the Hang Clean, Push Press is a sport movement so by default it is going to look like it is fast.

  • when you do the hang clean, you shouldnt use your back. ive been training olympic weight lifting for football, when you do it. you should shrug to the highest point then with that force pull the bar above your collar bone and elbows should be infront of the bar with palms facing up. and then using some leg power you should be able to press into the air. search it if you dont believe me

  • A very good point sir. By the looks of you, you seem to know what you are doing as far as knowing how you want your body to look and what you need to do to get it. Most people do not want to bulk up but stay lean, and you hit the nail right on the head as picking the right techniques designed to work out these particular muscles.
