These are the opening and closing cues to the 1978 version of "The Soupy Sales Show", remade using Soupy's original theme, "Flying Fingers", which I think best reflects the talents of this comic legend.

On a side note, the 1965 NYC version of the show used the theme "Dancing Ivories" (in the opening credits only), which had the same motif, but not quite the same tune as "Flying Fingers".

  • Or this one " I just lost 8 lbs" Soupy responds" turn aroud and let me look at you...oh, found it!" His late 70s gig was the best, even zanier than the old B/W stuff One of a kind, no more slaps from partially-viewed entities.

  • If you have Time Warner Cable it's on JLTV!

  • Dear Wahoo, Yes! The KTLA TV Ch.5 L.A.,Cal. studios was the original home of Warner Brother Movie Studios..where the 1927 version of"The Jazz Singer" and"The Merrie Melodies"movie cartoons were produced.

  • Looks like this version of the show was shot at KTLA in Hollywood, site of the original Warner Bros studio, where The Jazz Singer (1928) was made.

  • Dear J.Gray,

You're not going to believe this? But..Soupy was originally up for the role of"Gilligan" on"Gilligan's Island"...he didn't get the role..but..he did head for NYC to revive "The Soupy Sales Show"on WNEW TV Ch.5 in NYC..and we are all the better for it.

  • I just thought, look at Gilligan's clothes and Soupy

  • It's Oct 31

  • One time Soupy on his show on New Years Day--asked all the kids to come close to the T.V. screen and whispered--Kids I want you to go up to your parents bedroom while they are sleeping off New Years celebration from drinking the night before--and go pull out all the green bills for the presidents on them and send them to him--as a gift.--LOL--Funny stuff

  • "THE NEW HOWDY DOODY SHOW" taped 130 episodes (26 weeks) during the 1976-'77 season, '1952'. WNEW-TV, New York, aired it at 3pm weekdays in September '76, but dropped it after only a few weeks [WPIX-TV's brilliant idea of repeating their old "BOZO'S CIRCUS" videotapes from 1966- the Frank Avruch edition from WHDH, Boston- directly opposite Howdy didn't help, either]. "THE NEW MICKEY MOUSE CLUB" also lasted 130 episodes during a two year period [January 1977-January 1979], and WNEW stuck with it.

  • I remember watching this show when I was a kid. I was 8 years old going on 9 in 1978.
