The Kiwis came from another island on the other side of the world to help defend Crete. It was a hot sunny day when i visited this place last year. Our guys lie at rest on a beautiful beach with the greenest lawn on the island

Was there in 2002, very impressive, but it also lays so beautiful in the bay of Souda. What a loss of live...
If you compare this to what i saw and felt in the concentration camp of Dachau. Also a terrible loss of live. Even worse. Thank god we have peace in Europe nowadays. War is hell, always.

Nice video, me and my family went to crete last september. We visited the Deutscher soldatenfriedhof in Maleme on that trip. We just booked a trip to Crete for this summer so this time were going to visit The Souda bay war cemetery. //André

A nice video. Probably the best graveyard in the world wouldnt you say. I visit crete 4-5 times a year and always come to visit the memorial.
