Long overdue since my last video was about a year and a half ago now, here is a run through of a Rainbow Six Vegas 2 terrorist hunt on Murdertown, skill setting realistic, enemy density high, and lone wolf set.

Murdertown is considered one of the more difficult levels to do solo, but as with all of them, you can work out a routine because of the way the terrorists tend to spawn. I started off yesterday by running through on casual to see roughly how many and where the terrorists spawn, coming up with this relatively defensive tactic, which I first thought (after recording) would be far too boring for a video, eventually deciding that it might actually help people who have trouble with the level.

Of course, I could have just tried ploughing through the level to come up with more interesting a video, but I found this to be a successful method, and it didn't take me many tries to complete it. I selected the MG36 in addition to my standard single-player assault rifle (the G3) because of the large clip size and relatively short reloading time compared to the other light machine guns. Smoke grenades can also be useful here in addition to frag grenades, though it really depends on what you're comfortable using, as with the weaponry. Another thing that I haven't used in this video, but can be quite helpful, is the tactical map, because it tracks terrorists in your field of view and will continue to track them for a short while even if they move out of your line of sight.

I was going to add some time-stamped pointers in this description, but after I had done so, YouTube told me the description was too long, so I hope you get the idea from the video, and that it helps anyone who has had trouble trying to complete Murdertown solo. As always, feel free to comment with any questions or ideas.

  • i hate those enemy spawns...some times i throw a grenade in a small room it explodes and when i enter an enemy is spawn as i go in and kill'es me..what the hell were they thinking when the were making a tactical game where you cant use tactics

The only tactics is to run on a specific place let the enemy spawn and retreat and camp some were and wait for them to stupidly rush at you

  • @daraofp That's why I decided I'd just keep the video as it is, because apart from a few areas, Murdertown keeps you looking in so many directions that it's pretty easy to get killed. It would have taken me several more tries to produce videos as interesting as some of the others I have seen on here because of that.

  • @daraofp In regards to spawning though, I haven't yet encountered any enemies spawning right behind me, which happened in the first Rainbow Six Vegas in a few places. I agree it's still annoying, but especially if you're playing solo you can get used to where they might spawn, and usually cover yourself to take them out. One instance here is at 5:12, where you'll see me enter the door facing to the left, which is because in earlier attempts I found one spawned there.

  • @daraofp Also at 6:34 where I throw a smoke grenade under the stairs, because one always seems to spawn there. Throwing a frag grenade from this distance is useless, as he doesn't spawn until you get close, and since he usually comes round the corner before he makes any sound he just kills you straight off. I don't usually use smokes at all in co-op, but for solo hunts they can be pretty useful when you know terrorists will spawn and you want to make sure you get the first shots off.

  • nice job dude :) Why did you choose for a scope on the G3 instead of an anti-recoil stick or something?

  • @masoiaXL I left the scope on the G3 simply because that's what I normally use. I could have used a recoil stock or laser on the MG36, but if you tap the trigger to use it more like a semi-auto it's actually pretty accurate, and I find the rifle scope cleaner than the stock sights. Especially waiting at the top of the stairs, I prefer to have the zoom of the scope to get better detail on the terrorists coming up.

  • @demolition09 exactly...also there is no stealth approach to the rainbow six anymore, now days its more action oriented for selling games for younger kids to play...to bad i like the concept of the game but they messed up with those spawns
