I dont think USSR was that different before or after Stalin the purges were comom thing when a new leader took power such as after Stalin many of his suporters were purged after Krushev many of his suporters were purged etc etc Stalin shaped recreated and made the USSR into what it would be after WWII this didnt changed if Krushev(one of Stalin lackeys ironicaly) was des stalinist Brejenev was compelty a Pro Stalin suporter
