This is a 1990 Mercedes 300 D. It has been serviced by a dealer that is not specialized in Mercedes Diesels. As a result the engine runs like as its broken! Thanks dealership, I hope you will sell a lot of new cars and you don't care of all these perfectly build diesel cars that would save the planet since they really run on vegetable oil.
Reduce also the advance of injection!

that engine has common problems with rods, due to overheating and poor head design.

just wanted to tell you that it looks to me that you are drawing air into the fuel line somewhere. Can you see all the bubbles in the clear filter when the motor is running? They are not suppost to be there. Check for plugged filters, plugged tank screen, plugged or loose fuel lines. Good luck!
