The Galápagos Islands (Official name: Archipiélago de Colón; other Spanish names: Islas de Colónumio or Islas Galápagos, from galápago, "saddle"—after the shells of saddlebacked Galápagos tortoises) are an archipelago of volcanic islands distributed around the equator, 965 kilometres (about 600 miles) west of continental Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean. The Galápagos archipelago, with a population of around 30,000, is a province of Ecuador, a country in northwestern South America, and the islands are all part of Ecuador's national park system. The main language on the islands is Spanish.

I'm not sure to be honest. My grandparents are paying for me as a grad gift. I heard from some of my cousins that live in Ecuador it cost them about $400 when they went to Galapagos for a class trip.

From where we live in Ecuador (Cuenca) we first have to drive to Quayaquil then take a plane to Quito. Im not exactly sure about how much it costs to book rooms and everything but some of my cousins who have gone in the past say its around $400. Im just taking their word, I live in Canada and I only go to Ecuador for two months in the summer plus my grandparents book it for us. Also you should go see El Choro, and Incapirca. It's a waterfall but its really pretty and Incapirca is the ruins :D
