The story of the nine month old Colt Windchill and his legacy. WindChill was found emaciated and without food or shelter in Northern Wisconsin. Jeff and Kathi Tucker rescued the colt from an open field in extreme winter conditions of 50 below zero wind chills. In the warmth of the Tucker barn, "Windchill" found love, companionship, and a new family of people and animals that cared about him and helped to try to recover. Sadly, the abuse and neglect that he had suffered prior to his arrival at the Tucker farm proved to be too much for his frail body to endure and he succumbed. But in the twenty days that he lived with the Tuckers, he finally knew that his existance mattered and he left this world knowing that he was loved.
Now, his legacy lives on in the hearts of volunteers working for The WindChill Legacy, A non-profit born from his story. Volunteers work to educate children about treating all animals with respect and dignity and work to seek strongers laws against animal neglect and abuse.
