Good questions to ponder. I used to travel from one end of my state to the other frequently, many times I saw car wrecks, broke down cars in single digit weather, etc... I think often people feel too safe while driving in their care and are ill prepared.

This reminds me of a time back in 2005. Place is Texas, Tomball.
Our family was driving back from groccery shopping when we
encountered a huge traffic jam, at least a quarter mile long.
From what I saw, the cause was a large forest fire in the area. I counted around somewhere between 12 to 18 firetrucks alone that were piled along the highway.

Good video. Shows the perfect reason why you should have a GHB in your vehicle. Quite a few years back my wife got stuck on a highway in a snowstorm a few miles from the house. Luckily it was in a populated area and she was able to get out of the car and ask someone in a local business if she could use the ladies room and they also gave her some hot coffee but after that I have a bag made up for her in her Jeep.

For everyone who drives in my family I put together a car safety kit for one of their christmas gifts. I put a fire extinguisher in each one. It has food, water, signaling, first aid and other general survival tools.
