@mndpsp1 sorry but I just don't get that 'inspirational and best team ITW stuff'...The Lions have come to NZ .11 times and won only one series with 10 going our way...when are we going to get the best and most inspirational team coming here?..ok one good side came in the early 70s... other than that.. our un-inspirational bunch of riff raff ( the ABs)... are still wondering why we aren't getting your best side coming here?
-
@mndpsp1 I'm looking forward to as well...I think the Wallabies will be just about right by then. ...I think the Lions will struggle... but hopefully the they will #have time to prepare and 'gel as a team',#have no injuries worries #,get a decent referee who isnt biased against the northern hem,# have a good inspirational team talk before each game #have plenty of UK supporters #.aren't too home sick or run-down from a long season at home....(takes a breath)....has a decent coach...etc etc.

@ackerbee Every lions team is a dream team mate. (when i said the best team in the world, i didnt mean the 2009 one). Just 1 more year till 2013, cannot wait!

@mndpsp1 I thought the 2005 Lions with sir Clive was a ''dream team''..full of the best ever home nations players ...2003 rwc players from Eng...BOD best ever centre...Wilko best ever no 10 ..S.Jones etc.....only trouble is that they got absolutely slaughtered by the ABs (one game biggest ever defeat) and lost to the NZ Maori side.....''bloody inspirational stuff that old chap'' :-0

What'd he say at the end about looking down and being afraid?
-
@forsoup Absolutely, the adernaline rush before kick off, full focus * whistle blows* NAIL himmm!!!
-
@madenew00 they won that test and the series you fuckin welt
-
@madenew000 Ok thank you!!
-
you almost got my attention!

@madenew000 Are you doing this to get a reaction, because if you think this talk is childish rubbish then you are a fool!!!.
It's odd, but rugby really does bring out the best in people, because it demands certain values in order to be successful.
You look after each-other, fight for each-other, and take a hit for each-other. There is absolutely no bigger adrenaline rush than 5 minutes before kick off in a rugby match. Because you know what is coming, and you know that you are not letting each-other down.
Winning and losing is the small part. It's giving it every ounce you have that matters in rugby.

@forsoup Exactly! I've played many team sports, but none require the amount of support from the guy beside you as rugby does. I seem to recall the camp commandant at West Point saying that he thought it a better game for soldiers than football because of the close-knit, interrelated team aspect of it, whereas the American game is more about specialists doing their individual jobs - for the common good, yes, but not as closely and as dynamically as rugby.

I hope everyone gets a chance to experience something like this in their lifetime. I feel as if 99% of people are just guys going through the motions, living a half ass, un happy, mediocre life. It's moments like this where you realize what you're made of, what you live for and what life's about. Many people will never have an experience like this in their lives. That guy's an unbelievable speaker. Much respect.

@WLEF5127 Too right, and it not even need be at a high level. Get out and play a sport at whatever level suits you and give it your all with some like minded people. Friendships and memories forged in (non life threatening) battle and all that ... another coach and I pulled similar, heartfelt speeches out as we took our team to a club final this past season. (Losing at the death, sad to say ... but my co-coach pulled out a 'this is what it's about' speech that would make Geech proud!)
