'The Dandy' is a rare Ragtime-influenced fox trot by Austrian composer Fritz Recktenwald. The tune was recorded in Berlin for the Deutsche Grammophon by 'Kapellmeister (Sami) Stern mit seiner Künstlerkapelle vom Hotel Adlon, Berlin'. It was released on German Gramophone's cheaper sub-label 'Polyphon' (12"). Recording date is late 1920 or early 1921.
