In 2004, the Nigerian Government launched the Second National Fadama Project (Fadama II) to increase incomes in poor rural communities, especially among farmers and fishermen.

This is the story of Ismail Abdulahi - a pastoralist in Ta Kuti village in Niger State - and how life in the village changed when he and other pastoralists joined the Fadama II project. The project was supported by IDA, the World Bank's fund for the poorest.
