  • Maytag was not a brand name or a "line." Maytag was a way of LIFE! Good products built by good people with good values in a good small town in Iowa. In fact, I grew up only 3 blocks away from Plant 1, and the memory of the train tracks in the street on "The One Way" still makes me smile.

  • @12GaugeLosAngeles You have NO IDEA what Maytag is all about. I live in Newton, Iowa, where Maytag was founded and where it ultimately died...and Fred L. Maytag pioneered the laundry industry. This small town farm man started a business in his basement and turned it into an empire, the principles of which were the cornerstone for today's washers. I was appalled when the current "Maytag" employee was shocked that it still worked. Here in Newton, we would have expected nothing less!

  • Maytag museum? Give me a break.

  • Good move, old lady!
