Haven't seen the Big Red One, will have to check it out. I've always enjoyed the Patriot, great soundtrack and Issacs plays such a bastard in it. They makes us Brits look like the devil incarnate but I can look past it!
Have to be honest though I hated Defiance. I just didn't care about the characters, you couldn't really get behind them. The acting was well was poor. The main actors just didn't look like they wanted to be in the film.

The Deer Hunter is a brilliant film - spoiled only by the cop out ending. IMO, done to please the Academy voters.
The Big Red One was awesome...a nice DVD edition too.
