Every once in a while, when you are listening to other artists you may say to yourself, "hey, this is as good as it gets" But, then you come back to Judy and you reallize, "this is the greatest artist ever." Thank you Judy. You are incomparable.

I can not get enough of this video! Judy has a style that comes through here loud and clear. If there was a Man she was truly singing this too I know he is haunted by it for the rest of his life.Judy is truly living this song.At this point in her life she was Sassy and she knew how to use it.Even if the man got away Judy sang this song from what she was born with and from experience...Hauntingly very hauntingly....I love everything in this video the end the ash tray...... Barb R.I.P Judy..

@AppleMan1237 I believe she's lip-synching too, but it's not from the Carnegie Hall album, they both sound different. Judy did this on televsion numerous times during her CBS series, she'd pre-record songs in a studio and lip-synch to them during the live taping. Carnegie Hall will forever be one of the greatest albums of all time <3

Judging by the echo effect, I'd suggest that they pre-recorded this track earlier in the evening, and Judy, in the confines of this very imaginative set, lip-synched to herself. I know that the show was taped on three evenings. You hear her in her best voice, singing the first two songs recorded, "Just in Time" and then "When you're Smiling" in front of the live audience. When singing the Man that... she sounds a bit rough, but I like her voice when she was at this weight. Go figure.

I understand that the video clip is from a special with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, but she appears to be lip syncing to her live recording from her album, "Judy at Carnegie Hall". This is one of the greatest tracks on one of the greatest albums of all time. If you only get one Judy Garland album, get this one. I recognize it because I have listened to this track at least 50 times.

her signature song

my two cents, its a known fact, that Ms Garland was taking (started at the studios, when she was younger sleeping pills to sleep, and uppers, and everyone drank in those days,)she felt abandoned and washed up,and with a few hubbies, and boyfriends,..hey its hard getting older, anyhoo, pill taking and the like..to excess is considered "a slow suicide",getting older isnt for sissies, lol as someone said, forget who..wait when you get older...

and she did that sitting down... Judy was a beast!!

@MrStout93 Well, whatever caused her death, youtube is not the place to discuss it. So please just keep in mind that the comments placed by each video on my channel has to be about the performance or movie and it has to be in respectable terms. I accept discussions about some things, but I want it neat and clean and this subject is an easy target for lots of people to get nasty. Just a simple warning :-)

When was this? Where did you get this photage?
Tegnsprog 11 months ago
@Tegnsprog As far as I know it's from "The Judy Garland Show", 1962. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were guests in that show.

@Reneedebruin To clarify it's from the Judy, Frank and Dean -Once in A Lifetime tv special. Not her actual CBS tv show. because I have this DVD and it was put out by Judy's husband Sid Luft several years ago in a colorized version.
