while running my tanks using my Leopard A5 i ran over a rock  which hit the little plastic placard that said Leopard A5, underneath was the Leopard A6 designation molded into the plastic. im pretty sure the hull is the same for both and the turrets can be interchanged to have the recoil function. i like the short barrel makes tight spaces less annoying.

@craigdtibbits On the VS Tank models the Leopard 2 A5 and A6 run the same hull. The turret differs slightly at the rear- for example the mounting position of the winch. I agree with you that the A5's are easier to maneuver because of the shorter barrel. This immediately becomes apparent in IR battles. The guns which recoil are a different part number to the ones that don't recoil. The turret remains the same part number.

i have lop2 a6 and like i see this tank has gun recoil means gun is moving back and forth mine is not moving are all off a6 has gun moving

@dziuba67 No, not all IR Series Leopard 2 A6 came with the recoiling gun. Earlier A6's came without the cannon recoil function. Their gun is part no. A03102674 . Later the A6 came out with recoil function canon, the NATO color part no is A03102679. Now your next question is likely going to be "Can I fit the recoil gun to my tank?" My answer is "I think you may be able to if your main circuit board is identical to the model with the recoil cannon, however you will have to check on that"

Is the quallity of the leopard 2a6 better than the quality of the leopard 2a5?Can you commendable one of these vs tanks to me?

@MultiHenry97 If I were to recommend one model Leopard over the other I would choose the A5 for the following reason: the length of the barrel on the A6 makes the tank difficult to manoeuvre quickly in confined spaces. It is easier to bump it against obstacles.

Although this just comes down to personal preference, I like the look of the A5 more too, finding it looks more 'balanced'. I do believe that the A6 is the more popular among VsTank enthusiasts, likely because it is the later model

Same happened to me, Leo 2 A6 arrived with bottom of the hull broken. My guess is cause of those 3 screws. Anyway it was fixable and some glue saved the day. Fortunately happened only once: following 2 models were fine.
