$6,500!!!! Pay DOWN DEBT!!!

we started with $44,000 in debt and we've now paid about $26,000 in 3 yrs, but still have $20,000 left! More than half way through though!!

@TreeK7 it took 2 solid yrs to pay down $26,000....but we moved across the country twice so that took some of our money.

@yllekeener i have $8000 dollars in debt ...i make $380 a week tell ...prepaid phone can you recommend a model ? congratulations!! been paying $200 month on 2 cards is that too slow

@gasdorf if at all possible, find a way to earn more money....pick up a job in a restaurant or doing odd jobs, if only 1-2 evenings or days a week depending on your schedule. Work as much as you can for a short time while you attack the debt....$380/week isn't much money and it's gonna take forever to pay off the debt...see if you can find more work somehow! Good luck!

Good job yall. I was working my debt snowball and BAM! Unfortunately, I had a setback - medical emergency. I'm not out of it yet and I'm down $4k so far. I had been doing very well medically/physically and this is totally unexpected. I wonder if I should've got AFLAC.....

Way to go, you guys! I'm so happy to see such a level-headed, enthusiastic couple being SO smart with your money at such a young age. I love Dave Ramsey, too, and wish we had learned all this at your age! Loved watching your excitement when you paid off that bill!
