  • Why are there MTB pedals on a road bike? Very simple. If you ride both a MTB and a road bike but only want the expense of 1 pair of shoes and hate swapping cleats, you have the same pedals on both bikes. you can use MTB pedals on a road bike but not road pedals on a MTB...

  • @IHBBabe Good answer to Warlsss's post...that's exeactly why I have SPD's on my road bike. I run SPD's on my Scott touring bike and Gary Fisher dual suspension single track bike. Besides you can walk / run properly with SPD's, not so with Road bike shoes / cleats...practicality really.
